About Dr. Michael Wenzel

I’ve been using the dental microscope for all of my dentistry since 2016. This technology single-handedly transformed how I see, work, and share dentistry. I also work professionally as a videographer and wedding filmmaker, and that skillset helped shape my YouTube channel, Michael the Dentist, where I’ve shared microscope dentistry with more than 125,000 subscribers. With Master the Microscope, I’ve brought together 10 years of experience as a microscope dentist and an extensive background in videography to create a highly produced, cohesive training program that helps general dentists work in comfort, refine their precision, and confidently share their own cases as they elevate their restorative dentistry.

Master the Microscope is designed like a clear path up a mountain, but it opens by showing you the view from the top. Once you see what is possible under the microscope, the climb becomes far more compelling.

Each section of the curriculum builds on the one before it, allowing general dentists to uncover the map to mastery piece by piece. The knowledge and practical skills required to feel confident are not merely covered once. They are layered deliberately throughout the program, so the essential ideas keep reappearing in new and clinically relevant ways until they become second nature. The result is a dental microscope training system that feels cohesive, intentional, and far easier to carry into real clinical practice.

Dr. Ivan Kolárik

LEVICE, SLOVAKIA

Hi, my name is Dr. Ivan Kolárik. I have been using an operative microscope ever since my first year in practice, 8 years ago now. My boss bought me the microscope, God bless him, but as Dr. Wenzel points out, having a microscope and being able to use one are not necessarily the same thing. For a couple of months, I was able to shadow my more experienced colleague, but in other offices I was the sole user of a microscope. With no courses available at the time I had to learn to use it myself and it came at the price of a lot of stress, back pain and plain out frustration.
Everything I learned over the course of eight years Dr. Wenzel will teach you under 8 hours! I have to say, even with years of experience, I still found new tips and hacks I want to implement in my practice.
Whether you are new to dental microscopes, or already a veteran,
this course is a must have!

What dentists are saying

Dr. Laiton Wiedemann, General Dentist, sitting next to his Global A6 dental microscope

Dr. Laiton Wiedemann

CALGARY, CANADA

We bought our Global and Zeiss microscopes several years ago thinking it would help us do more complicated root canals. Despite being used to ergo loupes already, I still couldn't quite get the positioning right and appointments were frustrating to the point the microscopes became a decoration rather than a tool.

I wish I had this course 2 years ago! There were several 'aha' moments where I understood why I was having issues I did. I'm finding myself using the microscope way more often than ever- especially for general restorative and patient education. Thank you Mike!

Dr. Naeem Etemadi, General Dentist, working on a patient through a Zumax OMS 2050 Dental Microscope

Dr. Naeem Etemadi

SAN DIEGO, USA

I've had the opportunity to work with Michael one-on-one over the phone and through his course, Master the Microscope, and his depth of knowledge about dental microscopes is exceptional. The info I got from him helped me customize my Zumax OMS 2050 to make it IDEAL for real surgical and restorative work.

I'm still early in my career, but I've already seen many older colleagues dealing with chronic neck and back pain, and I was determined to avoid going down that same path. Through both our phone conversations and the structured guidance in Master the Microscope, Michael was able to troubleshoot my microscope setup, positioning, and ergonomics, helping me build good habits with the scope before bad ones set in. Now, using my 2050 properly makes my daily dentistry feel so much better.

If you're a general or restorative dentist who's seriously considering getting into scopes, look no further. Michael is an outstanding resource. I honestly can't recommend him or his course enough.
