iPhone & iPad on the Dental Microscope- Clinical Footage Sample
(visuals only; no audio)

The magic of an iPhone adapted to a dental microscope

These are just a few clips from my iPhone and iPad mini that I hooked up to my Zumax OMS 2380 microscope via the Zumax 360 degree adapter. To see how this could play out in real life, check out this real patient demo where I filmed the entire procedure (including the audio) on my iPhone adapted to the microscope.

The iPhone represents my camera of choice for a number of reasons, despite having access to expensive mirrorless cameras. However, the internal 4K cameras on Zumax microscopes are extremely convenient (although don't perform as well in low light situations, such as composite bonding without a resin filter in play).

The problem is, the iPhone will tend to lose focus unless you trick it into not doing so. Fortunately, there's an easy way to do so, and it involves the use of Blackmagic Camera, a free app that's extremely well supported. In my course, I do a deep dive on how to set the app up to make sure your footage is crystal clear, every single time.
